It was a beautiful night. The sky wasn't completely clear -- dark purple clouds threatened rain -- but a warm breeze embraced her, calming her just a little. A single bright star shimmered overhead.TEARJERKER. Teared quite madly almost throughout the entire novel. This was quite a simple heartfelt story about how a pubescent girl witnesses the dying process of her father, from a healthy jovial family man to frail man in a coffin.
Is that you, Dad? If that's you, give me a sign.
The star didn't dance or shoot across the sky. So maybe Dad wasn't a star.
Another warm gust of wind tousled her hair, and Abby closed her eyes.
Is that you, Dad? If that's you, blow harder.
The wind died down and the air seemed even more still than it had before.
Okay, so maybe Dad wasn't the wind.
Abby squeezed her shut eyes tight and asked Dad for just one sign. She opened them and searched the dark world around her, but nothing miraculous happened. Abby sighed in disappointment. She wondered if there really was a heaven, after all. Surely Dad would have given her a sign if he could have. Or maybe he was so happy to see his old family again that he's already forgotten the one he left behind.

I chanced upon a mutual friend's blog recently. She's 20 this year too and she scattered her father's ashes into the sea on her 20th birthday after he succumbed to stomach cancer.
Life is too fragile :'(
There's so much that I want to do this holidays. A lot of catching up and talking to old friends and trying to keep the good friends closer ♥
Accomplished quite a number of 'firsts' this holidays too yay! Firstly, going back for Harmoc concert HAHA I thought I told myself that it would be my last time listening to the Harmoc during my last concert :P So happy I caught up with Cass!!!
Okay this isn't a 'first' but owellz, being a lightbulb HAHAHA super bright one!!! Went cycling with Charlotte and KK at ECP! We cycled from ECP to Tampines! Super hot and sweaty after that but I managed to get tanner and it was good exercise!
Gonna do Mission Impossible 1204923805 this 26th May. But I think I will just walk for most of the 10k :/ But I guess it's good that I signed up cos my mum, sis and I have kinda started gyming together again yay!
We also celebrated G's birthday! Shopped for his present the day before meeting him and I'm amazed at how fast guys are in making decisions when it comes to shopping.
Tmr will be Kris's SUPER belated birthday dinner. Looking forward to it ♥ Cos finally we're meeting 1-1 HAHAHAHAHA.
I think the start of April marks the start of splurging on people's presents! And my dad's birthday is in May and my mum in June! Thinking of driving my dad to a surprise place for dinner (ofc w the family and my brother directing me!) but I think my dad will probably get too infuriated with my driving skillz to even look forward to a nice celebration? :(
